One of the many questions I get asked as a photographer is, “does your family ask you to take photos?”. The short answer is… yes. Don’t get me wrong though, one of the. many perks to being a photographer is that I get to take photos/hang out with my family at the same time!
My sister, Mary Ann, and her family decided to have a family session to celebrate the soon-to-be newest addition to the family! If you couldn’t tell, my sister and I have slight similarities (okay… maybe a lot of similarities!). People have always thought she and I were twins, but rest assured we are not. I guess photography must be in our genes because Mary Ann is a photographer (@veeleephotography) as well! She mainly focuses on photographing families in Delaware on the beach (ugh, dream job!).
We decided to have their family session/maternity photos at sunset on Skyline Drive this past summer. By “we decided” I mean it was entirely her decision. In fact, she had said that before even getting pregnant that whenever they have their third baby, she wanted maternity photos with me in the mountains. So technically, this photoshoot has been in the works for a while and I’m so glad we finally got to do it. On this day the weather was so beautiful and we had such a blast adventuring with Mary Ann, her husband, Damien, and their two children, Verity and Charlie. Not only were all of them so funny but they were truly like models in front of the camera.
I am always in awe that this is what I get to do everyday. I get to spend time with my family and capture memories that they can cherish forever. A win-win if you ask me! By the time I am writing this, their beautiful baby girl would have already been born. Forever and always, congratulations to the Seelbach Family!
Psst… if you love this Family Session at Shenandoah National Park, then you’re going to LOVE this Adventurous Maternity Session in the Blue Ridge Mountains!
