Emily and Daniel had the most breathtaking sunrise elopement at Stony Man Summit surrounded by beautiful autumn leaves and crisp chill air.
This was one top-secret elopement. No one even knew that these two were engaged for almost a full year leading up to this. Their original plan was to go out west to elope, it that didn’t work out so they traveled up to the blue ridge mountains instead (I am so glad they did) and reached out to me only a couple weeks in advance.
They also brought along their two best friends, who just had a beautiful baby girl a few weeks earlier (she came along on the hike and slept the whole way up in her car seat! Still very impressed that they carried that the whole hike up.)
We got to the top, and Emily’s reaction to the view is one of the best perks of my job. Hiking up in the dark to suddenly walk out and see an insane view with the sunrise is truly epic.
Emily’s veil went flying, and Daniel managed to not fall off the cliff to retrieve it.
They chose their ceremony spot and exchanged tearful vows.
After popping some bubbly, and having fun with ridiculous poses and funny pictures, we realized we had enough cell service so that Daniel could FaceTime his mom and give her the surprise of her life. Not only were they engaged for almost a year without her knowing, they are now on top of a mountain in Virginia and married.
We were all freaking out as the phone rang, and thankfully his mom answered and had the greatest reaction.
