Tips for your rainy day photo shoot :

  • Wear colors that will stand out against the fog and background - typically “warm” colors are best! Such as neutral shades of orange, pink, yellow - mixed with neutral blues, greens, and browns. Stay away from neon, because it can reflect off your face and the face of whoever you’re being photographed with! Here’s another rainy photo shoot with an awesome example of casual clothes

  • Leave the makeup behind, or wear very waterproof (like fake eyelashes!) If you do wear makeup, bring extra along so you can do a little bit of touching up if you need to.

  • Bring rain coats that you’d like being photographed in. If you want a variety, your fancy clothes and then a casual outfit to go with your rain coat and boots - above is a link with an example of casual outfits!

  • Go barefoot if it isn’t too chilly, or bring shoes that can get muddy (time for those yellow rain boots).

  • If you don’t have your own umbrella for photos, I have clear and black umbrellas you can use.

  • Bring towels or blankets for warming up. The blanket can make an appearance in your shoot, if you don’t mind it getting wet! I can also bring spare blankets that are allowed to get dirty.

  • If it’s a chilly, rainy day - bring a thermos of warm drinks to either have during the shoot or for your ride back.

  • Bring super comfy clothes to put on for your car ride back.

  • Have fun, and be prepared to run around and jump in puddles (:

If you want to book specifically for a rainy day, we can set up a tentative time (say, the month of August) and get your slot paid for and a contract signed to officially book you.
Then we can text, keep an eye on the forecast, and if our schedules all align with the weather - go frolicking in the rain!
